Career

In 2008, Franks was a member of Hillary Clinton's Illinois Steering Committee and February 5 Rapid Responders.[1][2]

He has said that the reason Democratic Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has problems in his relationship with the Legislature is that he does not spend enough time with the Legislature. "That’s a real reason he has such poor relations with the Legislature and can’t get any of his agenda passed, because he doesn’t talk to anybody."[3]

Campaign for higher office

After turning down a possible gubernatorial campaign in 2010, Franks has said he would consider running for the United States House of Representatives against Republican Don Manzullo in 2012 depending on redistricting after the next census.[4]
